The concept of the kitchen triangle has been around for ages and is still considered as the core of planning a cooking space. Essentially the kitchen triangle consists of the sink, the refrigerator and the stove and positioning in a triangular formation that is not more than 6-7 feet distance between them.

Colors choices for the walls and cabinetry are equally important as it has a huge impact in setting the mood and ambience of the room. The walls of the kitchen work well with loud or bright colors and the kitchen cabinetry with lighter shades to help create a deep contrast. Lighting both artificial and artificial are also vital aspects in planning a kitchen. kitchens with poor lighting will lead to shadows being cast making cooking extremely difficult, additionally it would also make the room dull and boring.  Natural lighting is another aspect that needs to considering. Allow for maximum natural light to enter the room without any obstruction. Large windows also allow for better ventilation allowing for kitchen odors and smell to exit with ease.
